Commissioner Seeks Help from Victims and Witnesses

Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Richard Rhodes is inviting victims and witnesses to come forward to take part in a Consultation Group to influence future support services available to victims of crime and antisocial behaviour in the county.

The Consultation Group supports the work of the Commissioner’s Office of Victim Services which has been established to ensure that victims and witnesses of crime and antisocial behaviour have a voice.

Police and Crime Commissioner, Richard Rhodes said “The Office of Victim Services was launched in March 2013, since when detailed work has been undertaken and the Victim Services Consultation Group was established in October 2014”.

“We would like to expand the group and invite victims or witnesses of crime and antisocial behaviour to take part and be involved in influencing the future support services in the county. We know that there is never just one victim of a crime and we are keen for people that may have been affected to come and be part of the Consultation Group.

“Some of the work that the Victim Services Consultation Group will be involved in will include developing and auditing services and being consulted about future initiatives. I am committed to improving the experience of victims.”
