Do you live in Cumbria and have a passion for dance?

Do you want the opportunity to work with professional choreographers and represent Cumbria at dance events across the North West and beyond?

If the answer is YES, then come along and audition to join Cumbria Youth Dance Company.

The day is open to all 12-18 year olds and will be held on Sunday 13th May, 10am to 4pm @ The Play Station, Penrith, CA11 8NU.

Dare Dance - Indian and Bollywood Dancing

Ever wanted to learn Indian and Bollywood Dancing?

DARE Dance have a dancer from India, Kali Chandrasegaram, teaching Bollywood dances during half term at DARE Dance Studio, 104 Abbey Road.

Central and Hindpool Youth Dance Group

Central and Hindpool Youth Dance Group at the Nan Tait Centre (Barracudas building), Abbey Road use the entrance on Bath Street. Weekly dance classes for girls aged 11-14yrs who love dancing.

Learn a variety of dance styles from Streetdance, Jazz, Contemporary, Bollywood and Caribbean add in your own moves 'n' grooves.

DARE DANCE has joined forces with the forum and Inspiring Communities to offer a summer of DANCING for infants, juniors and youth !!!

Following on from the success of Dare’s Summer Dance Show we are starting our Summer holidays with Dancing!!! The Dance Summer School will be led by DARE staff and guest artists for Infants, Juniors and Youth at the forum.

We are partnering with Inspiring Communities for a special offer for girls aged 11-14yrs living in Central and Hindpool areas of the town.

Monday 26th July – Friday 30th July (daily)

Infants 10:00-12:00 £20

Juniors 10:00-3.30 £30

Youth 1:00-3.30 £20

Have fun with your toddler, moving, rolling, shaking, jumping, reaching, leading and following to a range of funky, soulful music from around the world. Come along and have the time of your life!

Wriggle ‘n’ Jiggle Infants 4:00-4:45 Cost: £2.00
Age: School years Reception, 1 & 2
Imaginative movement inspired by a range of themes, props, music and stories. A fun, energetic class for infants who love to wriggle and jiggle.

Jumpstart Juniors 5:00-6:00 Cost: £2.00
Age: School years 3-6
Dance yourself dizzy with the chance to learn Streetdance, Jazz and Contemporary dance styles. You will also have the chance to make your own dances by adding your own ideas and your own style.

DARE 2 Youth Dance Company 6:00-8:00 Cost: £3.00
Age: 12 – 19 years
Come along and learn a variety of dance styles including Jazz, Street and Contemporary and have opportunity to create your own dances and perform.

THE BIG DANCE CHALLENGE LED BY DARE DANCE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NW EVENING MAIL AND THE BAY.

It's nearly time to show that 'Barrow Loves to Boogie'. Wherever you are on Friday 3rd July at 1:30 (tbc) you can join The Big Dance Challenge. T-REX 'I love to Boogie' will be playing on The Bay so you can jump out of your car and dance in the street, stop your shopping and boogie in the Supermarket, gather with friends and colleagues or join us in Barrow Park at the bandstand.

THE LOVE BARROW ‘BIG DANCE CHALLENGE’ LED BY DARE DANCE.

On Friday 3rd July at 1:30 we will show that Barrow love’s to boogie. We are looking for community groups, businesses, schools and individuals to take part in our BIG DANCE CHALLENGE.

This initiative aims to have 1000 people including schools, families and colleagues dancing together wherever they are at 1:30pm on Friday 3rd July to a soundtrack (hopefully played on Bay Radio). Sessions will be held in community centres, sports clubs and schools leading up to the event to teach a simple routine to dance leaders, teachers, business people who will in turn go and teach it to their group. We will be approaching all business’ displaying the LOVE BARROW sign to participate. Images of people dancing on the day can be emailed or text to DARE who will compile a montage of the event on the web-site.
